Love Island UK's Maura Higgins & Chris Taylor announce split

Maura and Chris appeared on Love Island UK's season 5 and went from getting to know each other in the villa to actually dating in the real world. The both of them confirmed their relationship by uploading a picture to instagram saying they've fallen for their best friend and he's mine on November 2020 (those post have now been deleted from both their instagrams). 

Like all good things sometimes having to come to an end just seven months later. Maura and Chris announced they are broken up via instagram stories on May 4 saying the following...

The two say that they are still very close friends and will still be each other's biggest supporters. They both say that the breakup between them was a mutual thing and that there's nothing bad that happened between them. 

This news was so sad to me because I remembered how happy I was when I found out that my two favorite islanders were dating. I'm glad the two are still going to remain friends after their breakup and I wish them both nothing but happiness going their separate ways.
