DIY Holiday Decoration Ideas

The holiday season is a magical time of year, and what better way to get into the festive spirit than by decorating your home with some DIY holiday decorations? Not only are these projects fun to create, but they also add a personal touch to your holiday decor. Here are some creative and easy ideas to help you get started:

1. Mason Jar Snow Globes

Mason jar snow globes are a charming addition to any holiday decor. To make your own, you'll need a mason jar, water, glycerin, glitter, and small holiday figurines. Simply glue the figurines to the inside of the jar lid, fill the jar with water and a few drops of glycerin (to make the glitter fall slowly), add glitter, and screw the lid back on. Shake it up and watch the magic happen!

2. Festive Garland

Garlands are a versatile decoration that can be draped over mantels, staircases, or even used as table centerpieces. For a simple yet elegant garland, string together pinecones, dried oranges, and cinnamon sticks. You can also add some greenery like eucalyptus or pine branches for a more natural look. Not only will it look beautiful, but it will also fill your home with a lovely holiday scent.

3. Handmade Ornaments

Creating your own ornaments is a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your Christmas tree. You can use materials like clay, felt, or even recycled items. One easy idea is to make salt dough ornaments. Mix together 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 1 cup of water to form a dough. Roll it out and use cookie cutters to create shapes. Bake them at 200°F for about 2 hours, let them cool, and then paint and decorate them as you like.

4. Holiday Wreaths

A festive wreath on your front door is a warm welcome for guests. To make a DIY wreath, start with a wreath form (which can be made of foam, wire, or even a pool noodle). Wrap it with greenery like pine branches or holly, and then add decorations such as berries, pinecones, ornaments, or ribbons. You can also create a themed wreath, like using only silver and blue decorations for a winter wonderland look.

5. Candle Holders

Transform ordinary candle holders into festive holiday decor with a few simple touches. Wrap the holders in burlap and tie with a ribbon, or glue on some small pinecones and berries. For a more glamorous look, coat the outside of the holder with glue and roll it in glitter. These candle holders will add a warm and cozy glow to any room.

DIY holiday decorations are a wonderful way to get creative and make your home feel festive and welcoming. These projects are not only fun but also a great way to spend time with family and friends. So gather your supplies, put on some holiday music, and start crafting your way to a beautifully decorated home this holiday season!

DIY flower phone charms

Hey everyone! Today we are doing a DIY that is both cute and very easy to make. Today we are going to be making our very own flower phone charms.

DIY Teddy Bear Phone Case

For the longest time I've always wanted this phone case...
Cute huh? But cases like these were pretty expensive (some were like $16) and I was like "why is it so expensive if it's just a stuffed bear and a phone case"

So I was like... "you know what? I'm gonna make my own"
*cue the DIY track by LaurDIY*

So for today's blog post I'm going to show you guys how you can create one of these for way way less. The total for my teddy bear phone case came up to $1.50. *cha ching*

For this tutorial you will need:

-Teddy bear that's the size of your phone.
-Glue gun with glue
-A small piece of fabric
-Scissors

First of all I want to state that this phone case is completely useless if you want to use the front camera. But if you want to and if your bear has a enough face space you can definitely cut a front camera hole.  This tutorial won't inclued that part because my bears face wasn't big enough.

Ok, so first step is to go to good will and get a stuffed bear that is the size of your phone. (If you already have a stuffed animal at home that's the size of your phone that's even better).

After that you're going to want to get a hard case for your phone. I got mines at the dollar store.
I don't think a silicone case would work since we're going to be using hot glue.

Now it's time for the actual DIY.
(I created this DIY a long time ago so please excuse the no acutal pictures showing you what I did. So please enjoy these drawings that will try to explain it to the best of my ability)

Take the bear and remove the back stitching...

Make sure you make a top and bottom cut so you can fit your phone case in.

After you've done that.
Take out some fluff (not a lot) or push it to the sides.

Next grab your fabric and hot glue gun and glue the opening shut.

(You're probably thinking, why do I need a fabric? Why didn't I just place the phone case to shut the hole? well we did this because the phone case needed to be glued from the back and if we just glued it to the cotton it wouldn't stick properly)

Next step...

Here's what my finished product looked like :)

And since it's the holiday season this could be an awesome gift for someone on your list :)

So, thats it... I really hope this tutorial was helpful and the instructions were clear, if there's any part that wasn't clear please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll help you. If you liked it don't forget to share it or if you make one I'd love to see pictures. You can tag me on instagram or tweet them to me.
Please comment down below what other DIYs or blog post you'd like to see from me :)

Also, I forgot to mention lol this phone case is such a conversation starter. Haha everytime I have it on people are like "what is that let me see." Then they ask me if I made it.

Simple and Cheap Christmas DIYs

Hey friends! For todays blog we're going to do two simple & cheap are these called center pieces? DIYs just in time for decorating for christmas.

*All the supplies were purchased at Dollar Tree (aka the dollar store)*

What you're going to need for this first DIY is

         Mini or Big Christmas Ornaments

Ribbon, Battery operated candle, Wine glass

Steps
What you're going to do first is take the wine glass & flip it. Once you've done so take the ribbon and tie a bow on the bottom part of the glass.

I had left over ribbon so what I did was, that I tied the bottom in a knot so the ornaments I put in there will not fall out if this decoration is picked up.

Second step is to place the ornament inside the wine glass. This is the part when you also decide if the ornament will be big or small.

Lastly you just put the battery operated candle on top of the wine glass and ta da. Your finished product should look something like this.

Or it may look like this if you decided to put the mini ornaments inside the wine glass.

DIY price:
Wine glass: $1
Roll of ribbon: $1
Mini ornaments: $1
Big ornaments: $1
Battery operated candle: $1

Total price: $4

The second DIY is also very easy to make as well. What you need for this DIY is the following...

Mini Christmas ornaments
(For this DIY I purchased 2 sets of 12 mini ornaments)

A vase of some sort

A battery operated candle

Steps
What you're going to do first is take all your mini ornaments and place them inside the vase. Make sure you leave room for the battery operated candle.

Lastly, you place the battery operated candle inside and ta da! Your finished product should look like this.

DIY price:
2 sets of 12 mini ornaments: $2
Vase: $1
Battery operated candle: $1

*Total price: $4

*total price may vary depending on the size of the vase you pick. The bigger the vase the more mini ornaments you're going to need. The smaller the vase the less mini ornaments you need.

If you guys decide to make these (or put your own lil touch on these DIYs) I would love to see pictures. You can tag me on instagram or tweet me pictures. Also if you guys want to see more DIYs in the future you can tell me so in the comments or tweet me what you want to see.

Bye! Love you ♡

Easy Christmas DIY table Centerpiece

Hey everyone! For this Christmas blog post, I thought I would show you a very simple DIY centerpiece.

Today we are going to be creating this lovely centerpiece my mom made for our living room.

For this DIY you will need:

  • 1 plastic tray
  • Mini ornaments
  • Scented pinecone
  • Glitter snowflakes (optional)

Alright let's get started:

Steps:

  1. Grab your tray and scented pinecones and start organizing them on the tray.
  2. Next, after you've done that you're going to want to take your mini ornaments and start placing them on top of the pinecones.
  3. Lastly (this is an optional step), decorate any "open" space with the glitter snowflakes. Our tray was looking a little empty around the edges (probably needed more pinecones) so we decorated the edges with the snowflakes.

That's it! This DIY is so simple & cheap. Below I am going to list the prices & where we got each item, just in case you wanted to make it for yourself.

Item price & store where it was purchased:

DIY swatch Stencil

I'm sure you've all probably have seen those pretty swatches, that the beauty community post when they post a picture of their new eyeshadow palettes...

Example:

If you look online the stickers that they sell that have the design already on them and are ready to swatch are really expensive. For only a couple of sticker sheets. (Which means only 1 use per sheet)

With this simple DIY I'm going to help you guys save a couple of bucks. All you need is a simple roll of tape. Yes, you read that right all you need is tape (well you also need a pencil or pen, scissors & well the eyeshadow or lip stick you will need to swatch, but you know the main thing you need is the tape).

*Disclaimer do not try this if you are alergic to adhesive or have sensitive skin.

Items needed:
-White masking tape
-Pencil or Pen
-Scissors or x-acto knife

How to do something like example 2

Step 1:
Take the masking tape and draw the design you want

Step 2:
Rip off the part where you drew your design.

Step 3:
Cut out your design

Step 4:
Put the tape on your wrist & start filling in with eyeshadow

Color I used

Palette: the color Institute
Brush: Beauty Treats #313

Step 5:
After you've finished filling the shape with eyeshadow. Peel off the tape and clean around the eyeshadow.

Step 6:
Finally after cleaning any loose eyeshadow it should look like this.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

If you want to do one like the 1st one follow these simple steps

Step 1:
Take your white masking tape & draw rectangles.

Step 2:
Rip off the tape after you finish drawing the rectangles

Step 3:
Cut out the rectangles

Step 4:
Put the strip of tape on your wrist

Step 5:
Start coloring in the rectangles

Used the 4 outer colors in the square

Step 6:
Peel off tape & wipe off loose eyeshadow.

Or you guys can use scotch tape for this one. Follow this tutorial for more information  (click here)
