This was a room with a bunch of cool art. My family and I didn't go in cause there was no one there and we thought we couldn't go in lol.
This one is called "The Legend of the Volcanos"
ok, so the story behind this painting is that the lady you see in the painting was a beautiful princess by the name Mixtli. This princess was so pretty that she had many people who wanted to marry her, but there was one man by the name of Axooxco who was very evil and he wanted her hand in marriage.
The only problem is that the princess was in love with a warrior named Popoca. So one day Popoca went to receive the highest distinction of Eagle Warrior and have an advantage over the other people who wanted the princesses hand in marriage. But when the princess found out about this she decided to take her own life because she didn't wanna marry the evil man.
When Popoca returned from battle a winner her saw the lifeless body of his beloved princess and quickly took her up the mountains. There Popoca stayed with her freezing by her side, but he had hopes that the cold air would awaken the princess... but it never did. They both froze to death and the couple became the volcanos Iztaccihuatil (sleeping woman) and Popocatepetl (smoking mountain).
Today those two volcanoes stand in the distant horizon of Mexico City.

This pice was called "Posters with a Cause"
According to the people at the museum "these posters are recognized as an archive of activism, from the US Civil Rights MI've mentioned up to the present day debates over immigration reform. They are as much a part for US history and popular culture as the artists, musicians and community leaders they herald. Many of the distinguished present day artists began their careers designing posters with a cause.

OMG this was the scariest part of my trip to the museum. OK so we walked into this room and I see this... right next to this was like 3 tvs playing a video of people dancing. But they were dressed with costumes that represented the devil. The dance they were doing was called "The Dance of the Devil". It was so weird cause I've never seen anything like that before. I was both scared and intrigued at the same time.
You can read more about this on this poster they had there...
This painting is called "Ballads from my homeland"
This painting is called "Mexican Traditions, our future"
This painting is called "The Wetback"
What the painting says "I am a person you never knew. I don't live, just in hopes of finding work and repect. They found my bones seventeen miles from the US border. They still haven't identified me."
I also loved this painting because they put that water jug cross next to it and the water jugs had hopeful messages for the people on their journey to a better world.
This painting was so freaking cool. When you walked from side to side the painting changed. The name of this painting is called "Sun Mad" if you want to find out more about this painting click here. This website does a great job going into a deep expiation about this.
Hope you guys enjoyed the little trip I took to the National Museum of Mexican Art. If you want to go visit and see all these lovely paintings and so much more go to their website to find the times and the address.
