My honest opinion on Elf on the Shelf

You've probably seen these little guys and gals getting into mischief or funny things this time of year. If we're being honest here, I didn't understand the concept of Elf on the Shelf at first but I think I learned now by seeing the pictures posted on social media.

So from what I understand is that the Elfs appear on the first of December and either cause mischief or do something funny. Then after a while (I think like 2 weeks??) of being on their assigned house they go back to Santa and tell him if their assigned boy or girl was either naughty or nice. Then they come back with news about what Santa said. Then they (the Elfs) stay at the assigned house for more time then they go back to Santa for a final report.

please tell me that this is it lol.


Ok, so like I said at first I didn't get it. I was like why can't the parents just tell the kids to behave or else Santa won't bring any gifts. But now that Ive looked more into this I LOVE this idea. Haha I've seen so many pictures of parents making the elfs do crazy and fun things it would be super fun to take part in. When/If I ever have kids in the future I am definitely going to do Elf on the shelf.

I didn't grow up with elf on the shelf. I was just told to behave because Santa was watching me all the time. But if you tell a kid that now a days they'd probably want proof or won't believe it so I am totally behind doing Elf on the Shelf in the future.
