Opening My First Blind Box

Hey everyone! Let’s open up my very first blind box. I got this blind box from Miniso because I really wanted a cute charm to go on my bag. I don’t know how you guys do it, but I had such a difficult time trying to only pick one. They had so many cute ones to pick from.

So this is the one I got. It’s the power puff girls one. It cost $20.

This is what the top looks like…

These are the secret ones you can get…

and these are the regular ones you can get…

There’s a little tab you can grab to rip open the top of the box.

Inside the box the item comes in a silver bag with the miniso face on it. Let’s open it and see what I got…

And I got one of the regular Bubbles.

Here’s what she looks like.

She also came with a card.

So yeah that’s it… have you purchased any blind boxes from Minso? If so which ones did you get? If I ever get more I’m probably going to get more powerpuff girls ones to see if I can collect them all.

5 Little Things That Made Me Smile This Week

I’ve been trying to slow down and notice the small things lately. Moments that feel warm, peaceful, or just a little bit joyful. So here are five that made me smile this week:

1. The Smell of Lavender in My Room

I plugged in my lavender scent again and it instantly made my space feel calm. It’s such a small thing, but it changes the whole mood of the room.

2. A Quiet Cup of Coffee in the Morning

I had one of those mornings where everything was still, and I got to enjoy my coffee with creamer without rushing. Just me, my cup, and a little peace.

3. Dill Pickle Popcorn

I picked up a bag again and snacked on it while watching YouTube videos. I don’t know what it is about that flavor, but it always hits the spot.

4. Hearing a Song I Forgot I Loved

I randomly played some old music this week and stumbled on a song that used to be on repeat. That nostalgic feeling made me smile so much.

5. Letting Myself Rest Without Guilt

I gave myself permission to do nothing. No chores, no tasks, just a little break. Sometimes rest is the best kind of self-care.

If you made it this far, tell me something small that made you smile this week ðŸ«¶ Let’s celebrate the little wins.

Chemotherapy Port FINALLY Removed

So yesterday I got my chemotherapy port removed and I’m going to tell you how it went.

Ok, so in the morning I called to see if there was any special instructions I needed to follow before the procedure and they told me that I had to shower, but I could NOT put any lotion in my chest area. Next, they told me to eat something lite.

I got to my appointment at 12:40 (my appointment was at 1pm). There wasn’t a lot of people there so after they took my vitals a few minutes later they took me into the room. Here’s what it looked like.

They handed me a gown and told me to change from the waist up with the gown open in the front. Then the Surgeon came in with another Doctor. I had to sign some paperwork and we talked for a bit before starting. Then they had me lay down on the little bed and they turned in a huge bright light.

They cleaned the site and injected me with some numbing so I wouldn’t feel anything. Then they went to work. I didn’t see nor did I feel any pain. The only thing I felt was was a little tugging when they were pulling out the bigger piece of the port and then pressure they applied when I was bleeding.

Here’s my chemo port they took out.

After they took it out they closed me back up and put skin glue on it

Here’s my cut (they followed the line they did before when they first put it in)

the thing around the actual cut
is the skin glue

They told me that the injection that they use to numb the area was only going to last me like 4 hours. So for 4 hours I didn’t feel anything and it was fantastic. But I started to feel a little sting around 5pm and that’s when I decided to take Tylenol. The pain isn’t unbearable it’s just like a small pinch in the chest that comes and goes. So far I don’t feel any huge pain or anything. I’ll update how I’m feeling when more days have passed. :)

Chemotherapy Port Removal Day

Hey everyone! As you can tell my the title today I’m FINALLY going to be getting my chemotherapy port removed! In case you didn’t know I had cancer back in 2020 when Covid was at an all time high. I had a rare type of cancer in one of my breast. That I’m still getting checked to make sure the cancer doesn’t come back to the breast or any part of my body.

All my cancer checkups have been going great so my Doctor suggested that I get my chemotherapy port removed. I’m so happy that it’s FINALLY getting removed. This is a big thing for me because that means I’m finally getting better. You know what I mean? The chemotherapy port coming out is like a new beginning almost kinda.

I remember the first time I got my chemotherapy through the port. IT WAS HORRIBLE! I wanted to throw up constantly and the very first chemotherapy session I had all my hair fell out. Yeah, that’s how strong the chemo was that it took only 1 session of it. So now it’s time to say goodbye port and thank you for helping me kick cancers butt!

Hopefully I feel good enough tomorrow so I can make an update on how everything went.

My experience getting a Complete Thyroidectomy

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog. As many of you may know if you read my blog, I had cancer.

Loss

Hello everyone. First of all I wanted to address the reason why I haven’t posted in forever. My last post was on December 20, 2021 and after that I took a break to spend Christmas with my family. Sadly, on December 28, 2021. Three days after Christmas my poor fur baby passed away. I haven’t been the same since.

I am still an emotional wreck. I miss my dog every single day. I wish I could hug & kiss her and give her all her favorite treats and hear her bark one last time. The grieving process is hard, there are days where I feel ok then there’s days where I cry myself to sleep because I miss my dog.

I’m slowly going to come back to my blog and continue to write some post. I just felt like I should update you guys just in case you don’t follow me on social media and weren’t aware of what was happening in my life.

Thank you so much for listening :)

My Experience with the Covid 19 Vaccine

Hey everyone! In today’s blog post I wanted to talk about my experience with getting the covid 19 vaccine. I was offered the vaccine on February 17 when I went in for one of my radiation treatments. Before anyone says anything I sadly belong in the group of people who are sick and high risk to get covid (suffering from cancer). The lady at the front desk was so nice and made the appointment for me to get the vaccine the very next day.

On February 18, 2021 I had the first dose of the covid vaccine (and I also became cancer free) and on March 11, 2021 I had my last vaccine. I decided to write this blog post to share my experience and hopefully when people read what happens they won’t be scared to get the vaccine. Because a lot of bad people have been spreading false information about the vaccine and there’s some people who believe what they are being told and they won’t get vaccinated because they’re scared.

Ok so here’s what happened. I walked into the place and there was like 4 temperature checking tablet things. I didn’t take a picture of those because I was nervous to get told off because I was taking pictures but they look like this...

They had a sticker on the floor that told you where to stand. When you stood there and looked at the tablet the tablet would say “normal temperature” along with your temperature inside a green bar. After I got the go ahead they told me to get in line for the vaccine registration.

make sure to keep a safe distance

make sure to wear double mask
to stay safe

The line lead me to a big room with a lot of people sitting on tables. The people working there told you what number table to go to. When you get to the table they tell you to go to the person there asks to see an ID (example: drivers license or state ID). They then begin to ask you the typical questions they ask like if you’re allergic to blank or blank. Then they make you sign on their electric sign machine. If you’re going to get the vaccine for the first time (I’m assuming you are since you’re reading this) they give you a card. You have to hold on to this card because you’re going to need it for your second dose. They also gave me a packet filled with information about the covid vaccine. Like what symptoms you can feel etc.

After you’re finished with the people on the tables they then ask you to get in line for the vaccine.

When you get to the front of the line for the vaccine the person in charge of the line tells you what number table to go to. After I went to the number table they told me there I saw the nurse who gave me my shot and she was with a computer. I had a question before I got the shot (my question was that I was going to go get my final radiation and I wanted to know if it would affect the vaccine if I go the radiation after) so I told the nurse and she raised a red folder. She told me this was to get a higher up nurse to come answer my question because she was only qualified to administer shots.

When the nurse came she answered my question and told me that when I got my shot my arm would feel heavy and sore if I didn’t move it a lot after I got the shot.

After I got my shot (they gave me the Pfizer vaccine) they told me to wait 15 minutes to see if I had any reactions to the vaccine. Lucky for me I didn’t. After my 15 minutes were done I was allowed to leave.

here's me waiting for my 15 minutes
to be over

my view

At home I did arm movements on my arm, circle rotations. Pretend like you’re swimming or rowing a boat that helps. The next day I kid you not my arm didn’t hurt at all neither the following days after that.

On March 11 I got my 2nd dose of the vaccine and went through the same process as I told you. Except when I got to get my shot I didn’t ask any questions this time and the person who gave me the shot asked me if I had any reactions to the first dose of the vaccine and I said no. Waited the 15 minutes after my vaccine and again I had no reaction again so after the wait was over I was allowed to go home. Again at home I moved my arm a lot and the next day my arm felt like I didn’t get the shot. I also didn’t have any reaction to the vaccine; no fever, no arm soreness... nothing.

When I went for my 2nd dose of the vaccine. I was told that supposedly you could get a fever so what I did is that I took 2 Tylenol after I took the shot and after I took a shower. Apparently according to Hispanic beliefs if you shower after you get a shot you won’t get a fever. I don’t know how that works or if that’s true but I did that and it worked for me lol.

I really hope that now by reading what happens you won’t be that scared to get the vaccine. It’s something that is going to help us get the world back to normal so if everyone pitches in and does their part the world can go back to normal faster. If you have any other questions about my experience you can always tweet me or message me on Instagram. The link to all my socials are located on the bottom of my blog (if you’re on mobile... just scroll down until you see welcome) if you’re on desktop they’re on the right hand side.

How to deal with losing your hair to Cancer

Hey guys! so for today's blog post I wanted to share with you guys how I dealt with losing all my hair to cancer. Yes, I lost all my hair during my first chemo treatment. Sure, I was aware that my hair was going to fall out (they told me in the hospital) and I also knew that if you had chemo your hair was going to fall off. But it really hits you like a ton of bricks.

So, a few days after my first chemo treatment I was like "I'm going to brush my hair" so I went to the bath room and started wetting my hair. As I put my hands through my hair I started pulling out fist full after fist full of hair. To be honest I kinda wanted to cry and I felt a lump in my throat but I didn't cry. Instead of looking at the negative in this scenario and crying about it I looked at the positive. The positive being that I could start buying and wearing wigs.

If you're reading this and your hair is falling out don't worry about it. Your hair will grow back after your treatment is over and in the meantime you can change your look daily with different color/style wigs. You know you've always wanted to have extravagant color hair (blue, green, pink, purple) now is your chance lol.

Also, guess what else you can do when your bald that no one else can do... If you get hot when you're wearing your wig you can just take off your hair and boom you can cool down in a flash. People who have hair can't do that. Like one time I was helping my mom in the kitchen and it was getting really hot. I had on one of my wigs (it's a straight wig with bangs and blue highlights). So I look at my mom and say "hey mom are you jealous that you can't do this" I reach up to my head and I pulled off my wig and I could instantly feel the cold breeze on my head and I started feeling less hot.

Also, here's another positive to losing all your hair on your head... if your hair was damaged you are getting new hair after your treatment is over. I didn't have damaged hair but right now I can tell you when it starts to grow back it feels so soft. Like baby hair soft.

Another positive about losing the hair on your head is that you don't have to comb your hair daily. I haven't combed my hair in like 6 or so months the only thing I do now is decide if I wanna wear a wig or not and if so what color. If I'm feeling lazy I just wear a hat.

When you lose your hair because of the chemo your getting you know what else you can look forward to... not shaving. Yeah since all your hair falls off you have smooth legs, armpits, arms everything. Imagine not having to shave to get smooth skin.

I would share pictures of my cancer journey with you guys. Like pictures of me bald and how my hair looks like now. But sadly there's people online who pretend they have cancer and steal other peoples pictures. I don't want this to happen to me so for my security I'm not sharing these pictures online. I hope you can understand.

I just want to say one quick thing before I go... if you're currently fighting cancer and need a friend to talk to I'm here. I'm going through everything you are going through/or are going to go through so I can definitely help if you need a friend to talk to because I know cancer can be hard. Also, if you have any questions on wigs you can tell me and hopefully I can answer.

UPDATE: Where have I been?

Hey guys remember me? I just thought I'd owe you guys an explanation on why I haven't posted a new blog post in 4 months.

If you follow me on twitter you are probably aware of what I'm going through but if you don't I'm going to try and make it a long story short.

On December of last year I felt a lump on my body and me being me I decided to ignore it because it "would go away" but it did NOT go away so I went to the doctor and he suggested I go to the hospital to get studies done... well, I got those studies done and on February 21 I was diagnosed with cancer.

I cried so hard that day. I didn't even know I had it in me to cry that hard but I did. After what seemed like hours of me crying my eyes got so heavy so I took a nap. When I woke up I was like "Jessica snap out of this. WHY ARE YOU CRYING? The doctor didn't say you were going to die..."

Anyways, fast forward to April 1. On April 1st I was supposed to have the surgery that would remove the cancer from my body but when they took my heart rate my heart rate was through the roof (it was 140bpm) the doctors got scared and didn't want to do my surgery. They made me stay at the hospital so they can monitor my heart rate to make sure it was normal for me to have such a high heart rate. I stayed at the hospital for 4 days and they came to the conclusion that my heart rate is just naturally fast at times.

Ok, so fast forward some more and we are now at April 17. April 17 was the day I got the surgery to remove the cancer. They took some skin from my leg so they could close the part where I got the tumor that was removed. (They told me the tumor was 20cm).
Anyways, I couldn't walk and to make things even worst I was in massive pain in two different spots. It was a horror show.

Like I said in previous blog posts. I like being 100% honest on here so I'm not going to hide the fact that I cried when it was time to change my gauze and put on the required medication on my huge scar. I don't know why I cried but I was looking at myself in the mirror and I just started crying.

The remaining days in April were spent going back and forth to the hospital (sucks)

In May I had my very first appointment in physical therapy (May 4th to be exact). I needed to go to physical therapy because my doctors had been discussing that I may have to have radiation/possible chemo after. Since for radiation you need to have your hands behind your head, I needed to work on that. On May 11th was my 2nd week going to physical therapy (I go every Monday at 9am).

I'm not going to go into any details now about what kind of exercise I was given in therapy because that would make the post even more longer but if you guys would want to know let me know and I'll write about my experience going to physically therapy.

May 13 I received a phone call from one of the many doctors I've been seeing and he said that him and the other doctors have been discussing my case and they thought it would be best for me to get radiation and chemo therapy. Even though they got all the cancer from my body they wanted me to still get chemo because of possible micro cancer cells that could have been left behind. Apparently micro cancer cells are so small that they can't be seen with the exams.

He also suggested that I had a PET scan done. (I had a CT scan done before multiple times to be exact but this time they wanted a PET scan) a PET scan for those of you that are reading and don't know is where they scan your whole body and a CT scan is where they only scan the chest area.

Well, that's what has happened so far and I hope you guys can understand why I haven't been blogging for 4 months. I'm going to try and get back to the swing of things but if you don't see a blog post from me in a while you know the reason why. (Because I'm going in and out of the hospital because of the shitty cancer)

Also I almost forgot to mention it but by the time you're reading this it's been exactly one month since I got the surgery to remove my cancer and I've never been happier in my life. Im no longer in random intolerable pain that would come and go as it pleased. I don't want to say I'm cancer free just yet because I haven't had any of my radiation and chemo treatments done but after I finish my treatments (hopefully it's soon) I'm going to be officially cancer free :').

Ok, so now that I've told you what I've been up to... what have you guys been up to? Also, let me know what you'd like to see now that I'm kinda back. Write it in the comments below or tweet/instagram me (pinkraincloudd on both). I really like hearing from you :)

YouTube sent me a Surprise

Hey everyone! So, I'm very excited to show you guys the gift YouTube sent to me. But before I show you guys what the gift is... let me tell you what happened before....

Ok, so the date is December 5... YouTube Rewind 2019 had just dropped. Everyone had mixed emotions about it, but let's not talk about that lol. One of the YouTubers I subscribed to this year (2019) made it to YouTube rewind. When I saw him on rewind I was so proud of him.

This is his channel by the way. Go subscribe... His name is Derek and he's such a nice, sweet and funny guy (and so so cute lol look at me being thirsty haha let me go drink some water xD )

Anyways, I went on twitter to congratulate him and saw he tweeted out this....

so I replied with this...

Again, look at me being such a fucking thirsty b*tch haha. I'm so embarrassed. I'm so sorry.

After a short while I received a tweet from YouTube saying this...

I saw this tweet and tbh I got scared a little lol. I was like why would youtube be telling me to follow them so they can DM me? I'm not a big YouTuber. Why do they wanna talk to me. So I responded to youtube's tweet with this...

After I responded to youtube's tweet. I got a DM from YouTube... this is what it said.

So I clicked on it and it a page that had a place to add my name, address, email and a place to add my favorite creator's name.

After I filled everything out I DMed YouTube thank you...

Fast forward to just December 25. I got an email saying my order had been shipped.

Then on December 30 I got a package in the mail.... and now is the moment you all came for... here's what youtube sent me.

The package wasn't sent in a special box or anything. It was a plastic bag from the t shirt company called teespring.

Here's what it looked like...

Well this is the back of said plastic bag lol. The front part had a huge sticker with my full name and address on it and I don't want that kind of information on the Internet.

Here's what's inside the plastic bag.

It's a red fanny pack!

Lets open up the other plastic bag so we can get a better look at this bad boy.

The fanny pack is the classic youtube red logo color. It also has the youtube rewind logo on the side of the bag and the quote my favorite YouTuber says.

I really liked this fanny pack because the letters and the logo aren't painted on. What I mean by that is that you can tell the letters aren't gonna chip away or fade because the letters and logo are actually part of the fabric they used to make this fanny pack.

Here's a closer look at the quote:

Now let's open up the bag and let's see the inside.

*zip*

Inside the bag there was a youtube rewind card that has #youtuberewind in white font with a red background and on the back is the youtube rewind logo on a black background.

Here's what the bag looks like on the inside...

There's a little zipper where you can keep your money or other small things.

And attached to the zipper compartment (on the front of it) it has a place to store your cards...

Then it's there's a black mesh cloth in front of the card holder...

and if that wasn't enough storage there's another. Yes, ANOTHER zipper on the back.

That's it. That's the surprise youtube sent to me. I am really grateful to have been lucky enough to get this bag. It's really pretty and I am going to treasure it deeply. Even the card that was inside the bag went directly on a frame and up on my wall lol.

Thank you once more youtube for sending me this really nice bag. I love you so much and if you ever wanna send me anymore stuff haha you know where to find me (jk jk or maybe??? lol) ♡♡♡♡

That's the end of this blog. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing what YouTube sent me.
In the comments below I wanna know who's your favorite youtuber? It could be a big youtuber or a small one no one knows about yet. Shout them out in the comments!

Good bye until next time.
